As most Filipinos know, the Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands, which was later on updated to 7,641 islands as there had been newly discovered islands that weren’t in the map before. It’s pretty cool how the Philippines was truly blessed with such an amazing landscape that Filipinos are surely proud of! Let’s tackle the land of famous Alaminos Longganisa: Pangasinan.
The province of Pangasinan is filled with several natural wonders. The world-famous Hundred Islands, white sand beaches, and wonderful caves of Bolinao are only a few examples. In the municipality of Tayug, you can also find the famous Sunflower Maze, that will leave you amazed!
TOP 7 THINGS TO DO IN PANGASINAN:
1. Swim at the Patar Beach
This is a fun place to snorkel for those who enjoy it. Many fish can be found among the rocks near the shore, away from the large waves. The waves are present near the shore, but they are not very high. There are huge areas where there is only sand underneath for those who like swimming but do not want to dive in the rocks. There are also a lot of resorts to stay near this place.
2. Go island hopping in Hundred Islands
This place is something you shouldn’t miss! Just be sure to wake up as early as possible so you wouldn’t miss every single detail of this place. The feeling of going from one island to another is totally an adventure for itself as each island has different characteristics from one another — there are islands suited for swimming, diving, and even a sort of hiking.
3. Get captivated by the Enchanted Cave
When you reach the area around the Enchanted Cave, you will be delighted to find that there is plenty of parking for all the tourists. But of course, it doesn’t end there as upon entering the whole place, you will be blown away by how clean the place was. Since the cave is underground, you’ll have to go downstairs to get in. The stairs may seem to be a little slippery, and the rocks located at the entrance are a little low, so both your steps and your head must be kept in mind.
4. Jump into the beauty of Bolinao Falls
The place is very clean and well-kept. If you like to hike, this one’s for you as hiking is needed in order to get to the other falls near the location. There’s an area of about 15–18 feet where you can dive your heart out.
5. Admire the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse
It is the second tallest lighthouse in the Philippines and it gives out a panoramic view of the South China Sea. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to climb up to the top of the lighthouse yet, but who knows? Maybe one day, they would already allow tourists to take a look at the view.
❤>6. Be amazed by the Sunflower-Maze Allied Botanical Corporation Sunflowers bloom usually every summer so make sure to plan a visit during these months. It is a small farm which is very appealing and instagrammable as well. Make sure to take a lot of pictures so that you will have a memory of these sunflowers once you go home. Also, since the full bloom is every summer, you might need an umbrella to protect you from extreme heat.
7. Take home an Alaminos Longganisa and some souvenirs
Well, who doesn’t want to remember the good memories of Pangasinan through their famous Alaminos Longganisa? This can be best bought from wet markets such as Suki Wet and Dry Market and Mangaldan Public Market.
